Job summary

Paul Card Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head of Finance for a respected charity. You will lead the finance function, working with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Trustees to shape strategic financial decisions.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, provide financial insight and support business cases, and lead a finance team while improving systems and controls.

Qualifications

• Significant senior finance experience and ability to influence at senior level.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting skills.
• Knowledge of SORP and restricted funds is advantageous.

This established charity is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead its finance function and play an important role in its wider leadership.

For the right person, reduced hours will be considered, offering greater flexibility without stepping away from a senior, influential role.

The Opportunity

As the senior finance lead, you'll work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Trustees, providing the insight, challenge and recommendations that support important decisions.

You'll also build strong relationships with managers across the charity, helping them understand financial performance and make the best use of their resources.

Your role will include:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
• Providing financial insight and recommendations to senior leaders and Trustees.
• Supporting business cases, new services and future income opportunities.
• Leading and developing an established finance team.
• Improving finance systems, reporting, processes and controls.

You'll have genuine strategic influence while remaining close enough to the operation to understand what's happening behind the numbers.

About You

You'll bring significant senior finance experience, strong financial planning and management reporting skills, and the confidence to challenge and influence at senior level.

Charity experience and knowledge of SORP and restricted funds would be advantageous, but aren't essential if you can develop that knowledge quickly.
