Job summary

Headstar in Leeds is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join the Executive Team and take genuine ownership of the organisation's financial strategy.

You'll advise the CEO and Board, shape forecasting and MI, support new contracts and funding opportunities, strengthen controls, and lead a finance team through the next phase of growth in a charity setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent.
• Strong senior finance experience (Financial Controller/Finance Manager).
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and management accounts experience.
• Comfortable presenting to Boards and senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and analytical thinking.
• Strategic thinker who can also dive into the detail.
• Charity/not-for-profit experience would be advantageous but not essential.

You'll join a growing charity who are on the search for a Head of Finance to join the Executive Team and take genuine ownership of the organisation's financial strategy.

This is much more than producing management accounts. You'll be advising the CEO and Board, shaping financial strategy, improving forecasting and MI, supporting new contracts and funding opportunities, and making sure the organisation has the financial resilience to continue delivering its work.

What they are looking for:

• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent.
• Strong senior finance (Financial Controller/Finance Manager) experience.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and management accounts experience.

• Someone who can operate strategically but isn't afraid to get into the detail.
• Charity / not-for-profit experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
