Permanent Head of Finance

West Lothian

Amplifi Talent are partnered with a leading, high growth business in West Lothian to recruit a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Finance. This is a pivotal role within a thriving organisation that is scaling rapidly and investing in its people, systems, and processes.

As Head of Finance, you will report directly to a part-time CFO and take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function. You will lead a team of 9 across transactional finance and management accounting, ensuring robust financial control, insightful reporting, and continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee all aspects of transactional finance, including AP, AR, and credit control.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Deliver insightful management accounts and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Take ownership of WIP (Work in Progress) accounting on contracts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and margin analysis.
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and performance across the business.
• Support the part-time CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements to support scalability.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a senior finance role within a fast-paced, growing business.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge, particularly around WIP and contract accounting.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
