About The Role

Excalon is recruiting for the role of Head of Finance at a pivotal time in the company's growth journey. We seek a high-performing, technically skilled finance professional ready to step into a key leadership role supporting an efficient and compliant finance function.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Finance will collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Team, group counterparts, auditors, and other external financial bodies.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting: Oversee daily financial management, performance, and compliance, including preparing monthly financial and management accounts, reporting, and annual statutory financial statements.
2. Financial Control: Prepare monthly financial forecasts and budgets. Ensure all monthly balance sheet control accounts are fully reconciled according to company policies and procedures. Uphold all group policies, including quality, health & safety, environmental, and information security.
3. Stakeholder Management: Partner with the Senior Leadership Team, Operations, Commercial, Business Development, and Support functions to improve business performance and drive efficiencies.
4. Strategic Leadership: Participate in management with responsibility for preparing and interpreting management accounting and other management information.
5. Audit and Compliance: Support relationships with external auditors and advisors. Lead the annual audit process and support tax planning and compliance.

About You

1. Professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
2. Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
3. Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
4. Confidence in forecasting and budgeting.
5. Experience in engineering/construction preferred.
6. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Navision/Evision) preferred.
