Job summary

Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a growing North Wales business to recruit a Head of Finance with CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensure timely management accounts, and provide robust financial controls.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a finance team, manage monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and stakeholder relations, while driving process improvements and automation in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified is essential.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling experience.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and governance.
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, setting clear responsibilities, expectations and standards of performance.
• Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banking partners and other key stakeholders.
• Own monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning processes.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial information through reconciliations, reviews and controls.
• Strengthen governance by implementing robust controls, policies and procedures across the business.
• Identify and deliver process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide clear financial analysis and explanations of variances, highlight risks and control weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements in timescales.
• Build strong relationships with senior management and operational teams to deliver a dependable finance service.
• Investigate and resolve financial issues promptly and take ownership of follow-up actions.

• Identify and deliver practical process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, consistency and accuracy.
• Provide clear financial analysis and explanations of variances, proactively identifying discrepancies, risks and control weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, tax and regulatory requirements within required timescales.
• Build strong working relationships with senior management, operational teams and external stakeholders, delivering a responsive and dependable finance service.
• Investigate and resolve financial issues promptly, prioritising effectively, taking ownership and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are completed.

Skills & experience required:

• CIMA, ACCCA or ACA qualified
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience.
• Experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Strong analytical skills with Advanced Excel and financial modelling experience.
• A proven understanding of financial controls and governance.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to senior stakeholders.
