Job summary

OA Group is recruiting a Head of Finance for an SME-based role in Letchworth Garden City. This is a hands-on, strategically focused leadership position overseeing the finance function and driving commercial insight.

You will work with the MD and SLT to shape budgets, forecasts and long-term financial planning, while leading a small finance team and maximizing the impact of Xero across reporting and automation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with a strategic, SME-focused mindset.
• Experience leading a finance function within a growing SME.
• Experience using Xero and enhancing finance systems and reporting.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial modelling capabilities.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and small finance team.
• Develop financial strategy, planning and forecasting.
• Prepare annual budgets and longer-term projections.
• Provide financial insight to MD and SLT for decision-making.
• Develop dashboards and Board reporting, ensuring robust controls.
