Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of this dynamic, forward-thinking, growing SME business. This is an exciting role for an energetic Head of Finance who wants to play an integral role in a business with ambitious and exciting growth ahead!

The Scratch Meals story starts in 2010 when two ambitious entrepreneurs had an idea – to help people lead healthier lifestyles and cook with ingredients from scratch. Now, 15 years later, they feed 120,000 people weekly, and you can find products in leading supermarkets nationwide. This is a great opportunity to play a crucial part in the ever-evolving story of Scratch Meals!

Responsibilities
  • Autonomous role supporting the Directors, being the business’s financial conscience and strategic thinker
  • Day-to-day management and development of the Finance team
  • Overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts, MI and board packs – generating greater insight
  • Completing the weekly flash reports to give up-to-date insight
  • Working collaboratively with the management team and Directors, including leading regular monthly meetings to review performance
  • Review, develop and lead an accurate costing process, including NPD costing
  • Cashflow management and forecasting
  • Managing the invoice financing facility and reporting requirements to the bank
  • Provide accurate analytical and financial reporting, and identify and report opportunities
  • Responsible for year-end and statutory accounts reporting
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and governance are in place
  • Lead projects around continuous improvement of accounting processes, automation, reporting and controls
  • Financial modelling and supporting the Directors with business strategy, capital investments and expansion plans
  • Leading on inventory, including stock takes, stock and wastage reporting
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, accountants, insurers and customers
  • Take a lead on company projects that require strategic financial insight
  • Assist with technical accounting queries raised within the business in a professional, commercially driven and accurate manner
  • Establish a cost-awareness culture within the factory and ensure the achievement of cost-out targets.

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA/CIMA/ACA
