Are you an experienced Finance leader seeking a new challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity at Cornerstone for a Head of Finance on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers a great opportunity for career progression and could serve as a stepping stone towards a Chief Financial Officer position in the future.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will oversee the management and development of our Finance function, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely financial information and analysis to support our organization. You will also assist with commercial contract negotiations to maintain financial sustainability.

This varied role covers many aspects within our Finance department.

Location

This role can be based in any of our main offices (Aberdeen, Dundee, or Glasgow) or part of our hybrid working model. If opting for hybrid, you should reside within a reasonable commute of these locations. Occasional travel to other Cornerstone branch locations will be required (travel expenses reimbursed).

The Role

As a senior leadership team member, you will contribute to the delivery of Cornerstone's strategic, operational, and departmental plans.

You will support the Director of Finance in establishing effective financial management and business support, ensuring appropriate policies and management information systems are in place to promote stability and growth.

You will provide accounting services across departments, combining your accounting expertise with effective financial management to communicate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include preparing monthly financial reports, analyzing performance, supporting budget preparation, monitoring reports, forecasts, and annual accounts.

About You

What we need from you:

  • Degree-level education in a relevant discipline
  • Recognized CCAB chartered accountancy qualification
  • Knowledge of the legal and charitable framework
  • Experience leading and managing a finance team within a similar organization
  • Proven experience developing financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills and data interpretation abilities
  • Ability to translate strategy into operational plans
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple initiatives
