Overview

Role: Head of Finance
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: 70,000 to 75,000 per annum
Hybrid - 4 days in the office across Newark & Sherwood and Nottingham City Centre sites, with 1 day from home
Location: Nottinghamshire

Sellick Partnership are proud to be working exclusively with YMCA Robin Hood Group to recruit a Head of Finance on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing the finance team (4 direct reports), ensuring an effective and responsive finance service across the organisation.
  • Supporting the CFO and Senior Leadership Team in decision making through professional financial insight and business partnering.
  • Driving transformation within the finance function, continuously improving systems, policies, and end-to-end processes.
  • Overseeing financial control, cashflow management, forecasting, and the production of timely management accounts and reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including Charity Commission and Homes England standards.
  • Providing financial modelling, scenario planning, and insight to support growth and development initiatives.
  • Supporting the successful implementation of a new finance system, due to launch in November 2025.
  • Acting as a proactive senior leader, contributing to strategy and deputising for the CFO when required.
Qualifications
  • A professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA).
  • Significant post-qualification experience at a senior finance level, ideally within Housing Associations or the wider Public/Not-for-Profit sector.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing, and developing teams.
  • Strong ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
  • Experience in financial planning, cashflow management, and implementing robust financial controls.
  • Previous experience of finance system implementation or transformation projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Commercial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to influence at both operational and strategic levels.
