Job summary

Marks Sattin is supporting a growing multi-discipline group in recruiting a Head of Finance. You will own financial reporting, forecasting and controls, partnering with senior leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights that drive growth.

Reporting to the Group CFO, with line management of a Finance Manager, you will analyse performance, identify risks and opportunities, and influence strategic decisions during a period of expansion and a potential transaction in the next 3–4

Qualifications

• Experience as Financial Controller / Finance Manager or similar, or TS/M&A background moving to industry.
• Strong commercial analysis and business partnering experience.
• Budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial control knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

Delighted to be working with this growing multi discipline group who are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers, understanding what is driving business performance and using financial insight to influence decision-making.

Reporting to an impressive Group CFO and the local MD with an impressive profile in the sector, with line management responsibility over an experienced Finance Manager, you will take ownership of financial performance, reporting, forecasting and controls, whilst working closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful commercial analysis and support growth. A key part of the role will be analysing performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and translating financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for the business, as they move towards a transadction in the next 3 to 4 years.

More specifically the role will be to:

• Take ownership of financial reporting, performance and the control environment
• Deliver commercial analysis and insight to support business decisions
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes
• Analyse the key drivers of profitability and operational performance
• Provide insight across sales channels, gross margin, logistics costs, marketing ROI, customer acquisition costs and inventory
• Manage and develop the Finance Manager
• Oversee the financial requirements of a German subsidiary

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or similar role, alternatively professional services experience in TS or M&A - looking to move to industry in a hands on position
• Strong commercial analysis and business partnering experience
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial control
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills

Most importantly, you will be analytical, commercially minded and confident challenging assumptions. Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level, able to immerse yourself in all aspects of a growing SME while still being willing to get into the detail when required. Retail/ecommerce experience is preferred, however related sector experience would be considered.
