Job summary

Lorien is seeking an experienced Head of Entity Reporting for a 2-month contract with possible extension. The role requires leadership over statutory, regulatory and management reporting across multiple entities within a regulated financial services environment.

The successful candidate will provide governance, technical accounting oversight and strategic guidance to finance teams while partnering with senior stakeholders. Hybrid working with occasional onsite travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in Financial Services, ideally Life Insurance, Pensions or wider Insurance markets.
• Extensive leadership across statutory, regulatory and management reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with governance over complex reporting processes.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of statutory, regulatory and management reporting across multiple legal entities.
• Provide technical accounting oversight, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Challenge significant accounting judgements, assumptions and reporting outcomes.
• Support executive and senior leadership teams with financial insight and reporting matters.
• Drive reporting quality, accuracy and timely delivery during key reporting cycles.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Audit and Executive functions.
• Ensure robust governance and controls are maintained across reporting processes.
• Support reporting transformation initiatives and enhancements to reporting and consolidation processes.
• Resolve complex accounting and reporting issues in a pragmatic and commercially focused manner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting frameworks and operating models.

Overview

Our financial services client is seeking an experienced Head of Entity Reporting to provide senior leadership across statutory, regulatory and management reporting activities during a critical reporting period. This is a high-profile contract role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, stakeholder management capabilities, and experience operating within a complex regulated environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy and governance of reporting outputs whilst providing technical oversight and leadership to finance teams and senior stakeholders.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Significant experience within Financial Services, ideally Life Insurance, Pensions or wider Insurance markets.
• Extensive leadership experience across statutory, regulatory and management reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience providing oversight and governance of complex reporting processes.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
• Experience leading teams through critical reporting periods and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Highly Desirable

• Experience working closely with actuarial functions and understanding the interaction between actuarial results and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of insurance reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to reporting transformation, finance change programmes or consolidation architecture initiatives.
• Experience managing complex reporting governance and control environments.
