About the role

As the Head of Europe Enterprise Sales at Anthropic, you will spearhead the strategic development and execution of our AI products, including Claude, across Europe. This role represents a critical leadership position in expanding Anthropic's presence across one of the world's most diverse and dynamic business regions.

You will initially establish and lead a specialized team of enterprise sales professionals across the region, creating our foundational sales infrastructure for that customer segment across the region. After successfully establishing our regional presence, this role will likely transition to focus on a specific sub-region or sub-segment approximately one year from now as we scale our EMEA operations.

Your responsibilities will encompass developing strategic partnerships with key ecosystem players like AWS, collaborating with our Product team to ensure regional market fit, and maintaining alignment with our global headquarters strategy. This position requires deep enterprise sales expertise, preferably with exposure to AI/ML technologies, and the ability to navigate the complex regulatory and cultural landscape of the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Europe go-to-market strategy for Enterprise customers
  • Build and lead a high-performing Enterprise sales team across the region
  • Build the foundations for a high-performing and sustainable Enterprise sales motion in the region, including building and executing against a predefined list of tentpole strategic customers
  • Establish strategic partnerships with major technology partners and distributors
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to adapt offerings for regional markets
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and refine our regional approach
  • Provide strategic leadership and professional development to the enterprise sales team
  • Represent EMEA interests to global leadership and communicate regional priorities
  • Ensure alignment between regional operations and global corporate strategy
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes within large organizations
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align Anthropic’s offerings with enterprise needs
  • Craft and execute strategies to differentiate Anthropic and capture market share, addressing the unique challenges of being a second-mover in the AI industry
  • Ensure our trust and safety principles are effectively communicated to our enterprise clients
  • Represent Anthropic across key partner events and with key customers
You may be a good fit if you have:
  • 18+ years of experience in enterprise sales, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing large-scale sales operations
  • Have a proven track record of success in enterprise sales, particularly in selling technical API products or services
  • Possess experience selling through channel sales and ideally through cloud partners such as AWS or GCP
  • Demonstrate an ability to build and scale enterprise sales teams in a high-growth environment
  • Have successfully sold into the Fortune 500
  • Show a history of creative problem-solving and persistence in competitive markets
  • Have experience in channel sales and managing partner relationships
  • Possess deep knowledge of the enterprise tech industry, particularly in areas like cloud services, data management, or AI
  • Excel at building internal champions within client organizations
  • Have a track record of success in companies that had to "hustle" and "come from behind" to win deals
  • Demonstrate strong diplomatic skills and the ability to navigate complex partner ecosystems
  • Are driven by a desire to win and have experience overcoming significant market challenges
  • International sales experience is a plus

The expected salary range for this position is:

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
