Job summary

Keyrock is seeking a Head of Engineering / Engineering Lead to steer the Options Engineering team in a remote-friendly, international setting. You will drive automation, risk controls, and platform evolution for systematic options trading using Rust, C++, and modern tooling.

The role requires deep technical leadership and collaboration with traders, quants, and risk teams. The position combines ownership of design, performance, reliability, and aggressive delivery discipline across a Rust-native

Qualifications

• 7+ years in systematic trading, options market-making, or low-latency trading systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Rust, C++, or C.
• Willingness to become deeply proficient in Rust.
• Knowledge of automated quoting, execution, pricing, risk controls, and data workflows.
• Experience with low-latency trading systems in options/derivatives.
• Experience with SQL databases in production, PostgreSQL preferred.
• Familiarity with testing and production-grade validation practices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and production reliability.
• Knowledge of gRPC and Node.js-based services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an Options Engineering team of around 7 engineers.
• Provide technical direction across trading infrastructure, system design, performance, reliability, and risk controls.
• Own and evolve a Rust-native systematic options trading platform.
• Partner with trading, quant, product, risk, and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Balance technical leadership with people leadership and delivery ownership.
• Work through complex engineering and trading-system challenges.
