Job summary

Mention Me is seeking a Head of Engineering in London to lead a team of 8-10 frontend and backend engineers. This hands-on role requires spending roughly half the time coding and half time leading and growing the team.

You’ll set technical direction, drive AI-native practices, and collaborate with data and product leadership to raise quality and drive customer value. Hybrid work is offered in a fast-moving scale-up environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of product engineering team at a B2B SaaS company, ideally martech or adjacent.
• Experience delivering modern frontend and backend stacks.
• Comfortable in a turnaround/scale-up environment with decisive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery for an agile team of frontend and backend engineers.
• Set technical direction and processes across the stack (Next.js/TypeScript frontend; PHP/Symfony backend on AWS).
• Drive AI-native practices to improve quality and speed.
• Develop data infrastructure fluency to align engineering and data decisions.
• Be the visible, accountable technical leader and represent engineering in strategy.
• Own career development, progression and hiring for the team.
• Lead a product engineering team in a B2B SaaS environment.
