Job summary

TXP is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and evolve our software engineering capability in a hybrid setting (Birmingham + client sites). You will shape TXP's engineering strategy, build a modern engineering function and drive excellence across people, delivery, technology and innovation.

You will partner with Architecture, Delivery, Testing, Data & AI and Commercial teams to grow leaders, establish standards and win strategic bids while delivering high‑quality services for clients across

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of software engineering teams in a consultancy or technology services setting.
• Strong track record mentoring and growing engineering leaders and high‑performing teams.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering including cloud, DevOps, automation and secure delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Application Modernisation, you'll be responsible for defining and driving TXP's engineering strategy whilst leading the continued growth of our engineering capability.

You’ll work closely with leaders across Architecture, Delivery, Testing, Data & AI and Commercial teams to:

This role is about more than managing teams. You'll help shape how TXP engineers deliver, innovate and grow as we continue to scale our Application Modernisation practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience leading software engineering teams at scale within a consultancy, technology services or professional services environment.
• A strong track record of building, mentoring and developing engineering leaders and high‑performing teams.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering practices including cloud technologies, DevOps, automation and secure software delivery.
• Experience delivering complex software solutions across multiple customers, programmes or business units.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
• Commercial awareness and experience supporting business growth through bids, proposals and customer engagement.
• A passion for innovation and an interest in the opportunities presented by AI‑enabled engineering practices.
