Job summary

Derby County Football Club is seeking a Head of Junior Academy Coaching to lead an elite coaching programme for U6-U14 at Moor Farm Training Centre. You will drive a world-class, player-centred development environment, aligning coaching, curriculum and matchday delivery with the Academy Game Model and best practice.

You will provide day-to-day leadership, quality assurance and oversight of coaching practice, supporting coaches to maximise each player's development, while ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Experience coaching within a Category 1 academy (FDP & YDP).
• Proven ability to lead a phase within an academy programme.
• Experience using Kitman Labs for monitoring and planning.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality, age-appropriate coaching curriculum for U6-U14.
• Ensure coaching aligns with the Academy Game Model and IDPs for players.
• Drive session design focusing on technical excellence and decision-making.
• Oversee a development-led matchday programme supporting training goals.
• Lead and develop Junior Academy coaches with observation and CPD.
• Establish coaching standards and QA processes using data and video.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support player development.
• Plan, monitor and track player development using academy systems.
• Support the Head of Academy Coaching in delivering strategic plans.
• Ensure compliance with EPPP, safeguarding and academy standards.
