Job Profile

As the Head of Business Development / BD Director, you will drive growth by establishing new business relationships within the EV and Construction sectors. Collaborating closely with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Chemistry, you will identify partners, negotiate contracts, develop projects, and oversee their delivery, ensuring they meet timelines and budgets. This role spans commercial, technical, IP, and legal domains.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and target new business opportunities in construction and electric vehicle industries.
2. Lead outreach and develop commercial projects integrating Thermulon's aerogel powders.
3. Collaborate with the COO, CTO, and Head of Chemistry to define project outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
4. Negotiate agreements such as Joint Development or Supplier Agreements, focusing on IP considerations.
5. Manage internal relationships and work with multidisciplinary teams.
6. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and customers.
7. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategies.
8. Manage the entire project lifecycle from conception to delivery.

Requirements

1. Technical degree in chemistry, materials science, or engineering (Masters level preferred).
2. 3-7+ years in business development or similar roles.
3. Experience in negotiating agreements with an IP perspective.
4. Proven ability to develop and implement commercial strategies.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
