Job summary

Pret A Manger is seeking a Head of Digital Technology to lead the digital strategy, oversee the technology roadmap and align engineering with business goals. The role combines strategic vision with hands-on engineering support, guiding a mix of in-house and outsourced teams to deliver scalable digital products and MarTech solutions across hospitality platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, full-stack knowledge, cloud and devops experience, and a proven ability to drive

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams across front-end, back-end and mobile platforms.
• Strong background in digital software development and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to drive engineering best practices and testing.
• Experience with microservices, cloud deployments and CI/CD tooling.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a digital and MarTech technology strategy.
• Own the digital technology platform and architecture oversight.
• Mentor outsourced and in-house engineers to foster collaboration.
• Promote engineering best practices and hands-on technical capability.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Oversee design, development and deployment of scalable digital solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical plans and prioritisation.
• Champion continuous learning and improvement in the team.
• Drive digital product transformation for efficiency and growth.
• Evaluate SaaS vs build investments with the tech team.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advise on adoption.
