This Design Director role will oversee the end-to-end design process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with internal teams and external agencies, they will set the creative direction, manage design workflows, and refine brand identity across web, marketing, and user experience. As the role evolves in 2025, UI/UX will become a greater focus, allowing for deeper involvement in digital product design and user experience enhancements.

Location: Guildford (On-site) with some Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development – Manage, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Creative Strategy – Translate business concepts into strong visual identities, ensuring consistency across branding, web, and marketing campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with senior leadership and department heads to align design with business goals.
  • Project Oversight – Oversee creative projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • External Agency Management – Maintain and develop relationships with external design, branding, and UX agencies.
  • UI/UX Integration – Work towards incorporating user experience best practices into digital platforms in 2025 and beyond.
  • Market & Trend Analysis – Stay ahead of industry trends, using insights to enhance design effectiveness.

Who They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior design or creative role, with a strong portfolio of branding, web, and digital design projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other industry-standard design tools.
  • Creative thinker with a strong eye for aesthetics, capable of turning concepts into compelling visuals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Passion for UI/UX and digital experiences, with an interest in expanding into user experience design.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to lead discussions and present ideas.
