Qualifications

  • Experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4 (Resistant Materials, 3D Graphics, Product Design or Food Technology).
  • Qualified teacher with experience leading a team in Design and Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small Design and Technology team.
  • Grow the school's DT curriculum offering from KS3 to KS4 and eventually to KS5.
  • Coach and develop other teachers in the team.

Job: Head of Design and Technology

School: Secondary Academy, Lewisham, Southeast London

Salary: Enhanced MPS/UPS £38,836 - £60,154 per annum (inner London) + TLR 2

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Start date: September 2025

Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary academy in Lewisham, inner London, looking for a Head of Design and Technology.

In this role you will lead a small Design and Technology team and grow the school's DT curriculum offering from KS3 to KS4 and eventually to KS5. This job could suit an experienced DT teacher ready to take on a Head of Department role.
