Job summary

Kevin Edward Group is seeking a seasoned Head of Depot Operations in Oldham, Greater Manchester, to oversee four UK depots in a fast-paced equipment rental environment. You will drive performance, lead depot teams and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver service excellence and growth.

The role requires multi-site oversight, strong leadership and a hands-on, commercially aware approach to fleet, logistics, engineering and safety across the network.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing depot operations within the rental industry.
• Multi-site operational management experience, ideally overseeing several depots or branches.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop operational teams.
• Solid understanding of fleet utilisation, logistics, engineering, transport and rental operations.
• Commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, operational costs and performance.
• Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving and operational improvement.
• Ability to operate strategically whilst remaining close to day-to-day running of the business.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of four depots, ensuring high standards of performance, service and efficiency.
• Leading, supporting and developing depot management teams, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Driving operational efficiencies across fleet management, logistics, engineering, transport and equipment availability.
• Ensuring consistent processes, procedures and best practices are implemented across all locations.
• Managing operational KPIs, budgets and performance, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.
• Working collaboratively with commercial and sales teams to ensure operational delivery meets customer expectations.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the business and its depot network.
