Job summary

Pinpoint is hiring a Head of Data to own the data strategy across the business. You will shape data platforms, partner with product, AI engineering, and commercial teams, and build data products used beyond dashboards.

You'll own the data behind customer insights, ensure trusted sources, and guide the organisation on data maturity. This UK-based, remote role requires leadership without a direct team and a track record turning data into value.

Qualifications

• Ownership of data strategy or a whole data function
• A data stack you designed and built yourself in a lean team
• Expert SQL and data modelling (Dataform or dbt), with strong Python and code managed properly in version control
• Deep hands on time with BigQuery or a similar cloud warehouse and modern ELT
• A track record of data products people actually use, including non technical teams
• Experience turning raw product usage data into metrics people act on
• Commercial judgement that connects data work to revenue, retention and strategy
• Clear explanations for senior leaders and non technical teams, in writing and in the room
• Daily use of LLMs and agentic tools, with engineering depth to ensure data safety and reliability

Responsibilities

• Set the data strategy and guidelines for how everyone builds with and uses our data
• Be the person senior leadership turns to when an idea needs data
• Own the data behind our new initiative and integrate outputs into our customer intelligence platform
• Work alongside product managers, providing tooling to pull product usage data
• Give Customer Success, Sales and Marketing clear views on risk and growth
• Own our customer intelligence platform end to end, including RecTrends
• Own the pipeline from source to insight with a data dictionary
• Over time, build machine learning benchmarks with the AI team
