Alpaca is seeking a Head of Data Platform to lead the Platform Engineering team. You will own the data strategy, drive the team's roadmap, and ensure scalable data services across actions from invoicing to analytics.

You will manage three team leads, balance operational delivery with strategic bets, and collaborate with Finance, Sales, Product, Compliance, and Customer Success to translate business needs into data products.

Formación

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with leadership.
• Proven track record building data platforms and self-serve analytics.
• Experience managing distributed/remote teams across time zones.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency with cloud data warehouses.
• Fintech or financial services data experience is a plus.
• Experience with data governance and security.

Responsabilidades

• Lead Platform Engineering & ETL teams, setting priorities and delivery.
• Own Data Lakehouse architecture using Trino, Iceberg, GCS, Airflow, dbt.
• Balance build-vs-buy decisions on tooling and data solutions.
• Deliver analytics and reporting for partners and product teams.
• Oversee data change management for new product launches.
• Guide AI/ML enablement and enterprise search initiatives.
• Manage on-call processes, incident response and data freshness SLAs.
