Job summary

Moonfare is seeking a Director of Data in London to own the data strategy and execution at a pivotal growth moment. You will lead a cross-functional Data Engineering and Analytics function, shaping how data powers investor services, operations, and future market expansion.

You will sit at the intersection of Engineering, Product, and business, guiding architecture, governance, and data quality while ensuring regulatory compliance and executive credibility.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in data engineering, AI, and architecture with hands-on delivery.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary data team in a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong ability to translate business goals into scalable data platforms.
• Proven track record building data platforms that support AI-driven operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data strategy, building platforms, pipelines, and governance for scalable data.
• Unify a 6-person data team across data engineering, analytics, and architecture into one cohesive unit.
• Architect and build infrastructure that sources, structures, and serves data across use cases.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to enable self-serve reporting and operational intelligence.
• Stay deeply involved in technical detail while representing data to executives and the Board.
• Embed compliance and regulatory thinking into every layer of the platform.
