Role: European Head of Ethics & Compliance

The role of the European Head of Ethics & Compliance is to implement and maintain a best-in-class compliance program for Pilgrim’s Europe, which includes twelve trading companies such as Pilgrim’s UK, Moy Park, and Pilgrim’s Food Masters UK.

What will I be doing?

• Enhance and protect the company’s reputation by providing timely and high-quality ethics and compliance advice to all areas of the business, either directly or by engaging appropriate external advisers.
• Initiate, design, develop, maintain, and revise compliance policies and procedures, considering internal and external factors, emerging risks, and the global compliance program.
• Create and implement annual compliance communications and training plans.
• Prepare monthly reports on compliance performance for Pilgrim’s Europe and participate in global compliance leadership calls.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, HR, Finance, and other business units to develop metrics for risk identification, measurement, and testing controls and mitigation strategies.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging risks to maintain a top-tier compliance program.
• Attract, develop, lead, motivate, and evaluate the performance of the Ethics & Compliance team.
• The role includes oversight of areas such as GDPR, Anti-Corruption, Criminal Finances, and Whistleblowing.

What will I need to have?

• Highly experienced (UK qualified) lawyer or compliance professional with extensive experience managing challenging compliance issues within a complex multinational group.
• A proven track record in compliance for approximately 8 years.
• Excellent skills in gathering, organizing, and analyzing information to develop appropriate options and actions.
• A strong commitment to the highest ethical and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues, and collaborate effectively within a team to establish a top-tier compliance program.
