Job summary

The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine is seeking a Head of Service for Clinical Technology in Inverness. You will provide strategic leadership across Assistive Technology, Wheelchair Services, Orthotics and Prosthetics, and Clinical Engineering in NHS Highland and the Western Isles.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, drive innovation, ensure patient‑focused service delivery, and represent the department in governance and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and eligibility for HCPC registration.
• Extensive experience in Assistive Technology and clinical engineering.
• Proven leadership in NHS or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership of Assistive Technology.
• Oversee Wheelchair Services, Orthotics and Prosthetics, and Clinical Engineering.
• Supervise staff and trainees.
• Lead on medical devices governance and safety.
• Collaborate with Research, Development and Innovation board.
• Engage with senior leadership on strategy and resources.
