Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking an experienced Responsible Individual for Children's Care Homes in Preston to provide strategic governance across four Ofsted-regulated homes. You will lead safeguarding, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality care and regulatory compliance.

The role requires Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, strong leadership, and the ability to travel between sites within the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within Ofsted-regulated children's residential care.
• Strong working knowledge of children's home regulations, quality standards, and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience managing multiple services and driving continuous improvement.
• Experience as a Responsible Individual and supporting registration of new homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide RI oversight for four Ofsted-regulated children's homes.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
• Maintain positive relationships with Ofsted, local authorities and external stakeholders.
• Monitor service quality through audits, QA visits and performance reviews.
• Support and challenge Registered Managers to achieve high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
• Lead safeguarding oversight, risk management and service improvement plans.
• Analyze performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
• Ensure robust governance across all services.
• Support growth and development of existing and future services.
• Promote a culture where children's voices are central to decision-making.

Job description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Responsible Individual - Children's Care Homes to provide strategic oversight, governance, and leadership across our residential services in Preston

As the Responsible Individual your key responsibilities include:

• Provide Responsible Individual oversight for four Ofsted-regulated children's homes
• Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, and external stakeholders
• Monitor service quality through audits, quality assurance visits, and performance reviews
• Support, mentor, and challenge Registered Managers to achieve high standards of care and regulatory compliance
• Lead on safeguarding oversight, risk management, and service improvement plans
• Analyse performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people
• Ensure robust governance arrangements are in place across all services
• Support the growth and development of existing and future residential services
• Promote a culture where children and young people's voices are central to decision-making

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Significant senior leadership experience within Ofsted-regulated children's residential care
• Strong working knowledge of children's home regulations, quality standards, and safeguarding legislation
• Experience of managing multiple services and driving continuous improvement
• Proven track record of supporting homes to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services
• Experience as a Responsible Individual
• Experience supporting the registration and mobilisation of new children's homes

**To be considered for this position you must hold Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare**

The successful Responsible Individual will receive an excellent salary up to £70,000 per annum.This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week.In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
