Job summary

CS UK Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Responsible Individual to provide strategic governance for four Ofsted-regulated children’s homes in Preston. The role focuses on safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and continuous service improvement.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, possess a full UK driving licence, and be prepared to travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within Ofsted-regulated children’s residential care.
• Strong knowledge of children’s home regulations, quality standards, safeguarding legislation.
• Experience managing multiple services and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide Responsible Individual oversight for four Ofsted-regulated children’s homes.
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Maintain relationships with Ofsted, local authorities and external stakeholders.
• Monitor service quality through audits, QA visits and performance reviews.
• Support and mentor Registered Managers to achieve high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
• Lead safeguarding oversight, risk management and service improvement plans.
• Analyse performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
• Ensure robust governance across all services.
• Support growth of existing and future residential services.
• Promote children and young people’s voices in decision-making.

Responsible Individual - Children’s Home

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Responsible Individual – Children’s Care Homes to provide strategic oversight, governance, and leadership across our residential services in Preston

As the Responsible Individual your key responsibilities include:

• Provide Responsible Individual oversight for four Ofsted-regulated children’s homes
• Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, and external stakeholders
• Monitor service quality through audits, quality assurance visits, and performance reviews
• Support, mentor, and challenge Registered Managers to achieve high standards of care and regulatory compliance
• Lead on safeguarding oversight, risk management, and service improvement plans
• Analyse performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people
• Ensure robust governance arrangements are in place across all services
• Support the growth and development of existing and future residential services
• Promote a culture where children and young people’s voices are central to decision-making

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Significant senior leadership experience within Ofsted-regulated children's residential care
• Strong working knowledge of children's home regulations, quality standards, and safeguarding legislation
• Experience of managing multiple services and driving continuous improvement
• Proven track record of supporting homes to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services
• Experience as a Responsible Individual
• Experience supporting the registration and mobilisation of new children’s homes

To be considered for this position you must hold Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare

The successful Responsible Individual will receive an excellent salary £65,000 - £70,000 per annum - Pay frequency is monthly. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
