Job summary

VolkerWessels UK is seeking a strategic Head of Business Systems to own and optimise our business applications landscape, including Dynamics 365 Business Central (4PS) and Power Platform. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive governance, and partner with Finance and senior leaders to unlock growth.

You will ensure secure, scalable data flows, robust controls, and continuous improvement across IT-enabled business processes, aligning technology with corporate objectives and supplier

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading business systems, application development and support functions.
• Strong expertise in ERP platforms, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is essential and 4PS advantageous.
• Experience managing technical teams within complex business environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, integrations, APIs and application architecture.

VolkerWessels UK is looking for a Head of Business Systems to take ownership of the applications that underpin our business operations, ensuring they are reliable, integrated, and aligned with our strategic goals.

Reporting to the ICT Director, you'll lead our Application Development, Testing, Application Support and Application Support Specialist teams, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across our business systems landscape.

A key part of this role will be acting as the recognised business authority for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (4PS), partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to maximise system capability and support future growth.

We're looking for a strategic technology leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent business and stakeholder management skills.

You'll bring:

• Significant experience leading business systems, application development and support functions.
• Strong expertise in ERP platforms, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is essential and 4PS advantageous.
• Experience managing technical teams within complex business environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, integrations, APIs and application architecture.
• A strong understanding of finance, commercial and operational processes.
• A proven ability to influence and partner with Executive and senior leadership teams, translating complex business challenges into data-driven technology solutions that deliver strategic value, operational improvement, and competitive advantage.
• Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-led organisations would be highly advantageous.
