Job summary

Vital Energi is seeking a commercially focused Head of Business Systems to lead the organisation's business applications, system development and business analysis capability from our Head Office in Blackburn with support to sites. You will own the development, optimisation and integration of core platforms and deliver new digital capabilities that drive measurable operational value.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to work on your own initiative and to align technology solutions

Qualifications

• Strong business system applications knowledge within a medium to large organisation.
• Good understanding of ERP systems, particularly D365 Business Central. CRM, field service / asset management systems.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, API’s, Data Flows and application architecture.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, information management principals.
• Improve integration platform and technologies, ensuring compliance with security standards.

If so, we’re looking for a talented Head of Business Systems to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn with support to sites.

The role

Due to Vital Energi's continued growth, we require an experienced and commercially focused head of business systems to lead the organisations business applications, system development and business analysis capability. This is a key leadership role within IT, responsible for the ongoing development, optimisation and integration of core business platforms, as well as leading the delivery of new digital capabilities. The role will have particular focus on ensuring digital platforms are implemented effectively, adopted by the business and continually deliver measurable operational value.

The suitable candidate will be expected to possess strong motivational skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative.

The Company

Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings.

We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK’s Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster.

A few key responsibilities

• Leading the business systems team, owning the development of the business system landscape

Education & Experience:

• Strong business system applications knowledge within a medium to large organisation
• Good understanding of ERP systems, particularly D365 Business Central. CRM, field service / asset management systems.

• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, information management principals
• Improve integration platform and technologies, ensuring compliance with security standards

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of business systems, digital platforms, data and analytics, and enterprise system integrations.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to align technology solutions to business objectives and develop compelling business cases for investment.
• Proven knowledge of system architecture, technical delivery, digital transformation, and business change portfolio management.
• Experience of information security, risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning within complex technology environments.
• Effective leadership and people management capabilities, with experience building, developing, and retaining high-performing technical teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate business needs into technology requirements and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and successful change delivery.
