Vital Energi is recruiting a Contracts Manager to work on sites across London. The role delivers contracts safely, on programme and on budget to client and Vital Energi standards, including relationship development with clients and sub-contractors.

The post involves leading multidisciplinary teams, managing subcontractors, and driving project profitability while maintaining programme and quality objectives. Charters, health & safety, and site discipline are integral to the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multiple projects and contracts to meet safety, quality, programme and client requirements.

• Manage profitability, risks and contractual obligations, implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and client requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop project teams and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support business development through client engagement and tender input.
• Provide regular project reporting and attend meetings as required.

Contracts Manager

If so, we are currently recruiting a Contracts Manager to work on sites across London.

The role will include being responsible for the delivery of contracts safely, on programme, on budget to the client and Vital Energi standards. Development of client relationships, liaison with sub-contractors and suppliers of materials or services to Vital Energi. The management and supervision of a project installation team and the delegating of tasks accordingly.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of multiple projects and contracts, ensuring safety, quality, programme, commercial, and client requirements are achieved.
• Take overall responsibility for project planning, resourcing, subcontractor management, commissioning activities, and project handover.
• Manage project performance, profitability, risks, and contractual obligations, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, quality standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and develop project teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to business development activities, including client engagement, tender support, and identifying opportunities for future work.
• Provide regular project reporting and attend contract, progress, and client meetings as required.

Education

HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.

Chartered Engineer status desirable.

Qualifications

• SMSTS, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification desirable.

Knowledge & Experience

• Significant experience in a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Contracts Manager role within an engineering, energy, utilities, construction, or related environment.
• Proven track record of managing large-value projects or multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion.
• Experience operating as Principal Contractor and managing contractual, commercial, and operational project requirements.
• Strong understanding of contract management, project controls, risk management, health & safety, and quality assurance processes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholder relationships.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to drive project profitability while maintaining programme and quality objectives.
