Job summary

Study Group, in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, seeks a Head of Department at Leeds International Study Centre. The role leads the academic team, ensures progression targets, and manages programme matters within the Business pathway.

The post holder will have recent line-management experience in a relevant subject and engage with HEIs in collaborative development to sustain high standards and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area required.
• A Master’s qualification is desirable.
• Candidates with a PhD will be particularly welcomed.
• Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education and preferably a teaching qualification and experience of working with international students.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the academic team and manage designated modules as part of the Centre Management Team.
• Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to manage programmes and student life cycle.
• Design, deliver and develop modules offered by the centre and contribute to assessment and learning activities.
• Manage module examinations, provide feedback to students and oversee the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
• Coordinate with Student Experience Team and Registry to deliver induction, orientation and registration programmes; support student progression aims.
• Contribute to quality assurance, attend partnership boards, and drive improvement to meet high standards.
