Job summary

Domestic & General is seeking a Head of Business Intelligence on a 14-month FTC to lead a team of 10 BI and reporting professionals. You will drive the transformation and simplification of our reporting estate, creating a modern, self-service environment while ensuring critical reporting runs seamlessly.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, partnering with Operations, Data, Technology and the wider business to deliver meaningful change at pace.

Qualifications

• Experience leading BI, MI or Reporting teams and large-scale transformation programs.
• Proven track record transforming reporting estates and enabling self-service capability.
• Strong Power BI experience; solid SQL, data modelling and reporting best practices.
• Experience developing reporting hubs, standardised dashboards, governed datasets or KPI frameworks.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate priorities into delivery plans.
• Experience collaborating with Data and Technology teams on data platforms and analytics.
• Change leadership skills with credible adoption of new ways of working.
• Experience in insurance/financial services or regulated environments is advantageous but not essential.

Head of Business Intelligence (14 Month FTC) Hybrid from our Wimbledon or Nottingham Offices Opportunity to Drive a Significant Reporting Transformation

About the role We’re looking for a Head of Business Intelligence to join us on a 14 month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. Leading a team of 10 BI and reporting professionals, you’ll be responsible for the reporting that our UK and EU businesses rely on to manage performance and make decisions. Your primary focus will be leading the transformation and simplification of our reporting estate, creating a modern, trusted and increasingly self-service reporting environment while ensuring business-critical reporting continues to run seamlessly. You’ll lead the review and rationalisation of existing reports, develop reporting hubs and reusable reporting assets, and work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Data, Technology and the wider business to deliver meaningful change at pace. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and reporting transformation in a highly visible role.

About you You’ll be an experienced BI, MI or Reporting leader with a track record of leading teams and delivering large-scale reporting transformation programmes. We’re looking for someone who can bring a clear vision for modern business intelligence, balancing operational delivery with long-term improvement and simplification. You’ll likely have:

• Experience leading BI, MI or Reporting functions and developing high-performing teams.
• A track record of transforming and rationalising reporting estates, improving consistency, adoption and self-service capability.
• Strong Power BI experience, alongside a solid understanding of SQL, data modelling and reporting best practice.
• Experience developing reporting hubs, standardised dashboards, governed datasets or KPI frameworks.
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business priorities into clear delivery plans.
• Experience working closely with Data and Technology teams on data platform, reporting or analytics initiatives.
• Strong change leadership skills, with the credibility to challenge constructively and drive adoption of new ways of working.
• Experience within insurance, financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
