Job Purpose: Following sustained growth over the last 5 years, we seek a Head of Business Development to drive sales and marketing aligned with our business objectives. The role involves developing and overseeing our commercial strategy, working with Directors to prioritize and execute growth projects.
We welcome candidates with diverse experience, valuing potential as well as experience. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, outgoing, and possess strong branding, marketing, sales, and customer relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Directors to refine our commercial strategy to surpass growth targets.
- Lead the business development team to increase leads, conversion rates, and manage pipelines to achieve revenue growth.
- Drive income growth by leveraging market opportunities in line with targets, budgets, and KPIs.
- Promote innovation and thought leadership through research, insights, and active participation in sector discussions and external affairs.
- Represent the company externally via presentations and speaking engagements; network and build relationships with prospects and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage social media strategies and campaigns, creating content to position the company as a thought leader, including blogs and press releases.
- Research and secure new business tenders, frameworks, DPS, and accreditations.
- Organize and coordinate business and social events.
- Act as a brand ambassador and lead corporate branding efforts.
- Work with teams and departments to set strategic directions for business development, including sector penetration and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
- Coach and manage team members to enhance income growth and ensure effective lead management.
- Develop sector knowledge and understand client needs.
- Participate in senior management meetings, contribute to organizational strategy, and be involved in project teams and business planning.
- Coordinate with other departments for new product/service launches and ensure clear communication of value propositions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or relevant field.
- MBA or similar qualification preferred.
- Experience in Social Housing, Surveying, and Retrofit sectors.
- Capability in branding, communication, and networking.
- Strong collaboration, copywriting, and proofreading skills.
- Proactive in identifying new business opportunities.
- Proven success in sales and business development, with a track record of revenue growth.
- Understanding of sales processes and sector networks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong questioning, listening, communication, and time management skills.
- Leadership and relationship-building experience.
