Job summary

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is seeking a Head of Business Change to provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s business change function. You will support Whole Service Leadership Teams, sponsors and delivery teams from idea shaping through to adoption and evaluation.

The post holder will drive governance, assurance and delivery lessons to embed change across DVSA, leading teams, improving services and ensuring measurable benefits for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading teams and delivering projects/programmes in complex environments.
• Ability to support business change across project, programme, portfolio and service delivery, including adoption and benefits planning.
• Experience developing and improving professional service offers, operating models, standards and guidance.

Job description

Location: Birmingham, Bristol, Chadderton, Leeds, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Swansea (This role is suitable for hybrid working)

Salary: £59,816 - Plus a Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%

The Head of Business Change leads, develops and continuously improves DVSA’s Business Change service, supporting whole-service delivery, successful adoption and measurable benefits for customers, colleagues and services.

The role provides strategic leadership for the Business Change team, ensuring services, Whole Service Leadership Teams, sponsors, managers and delivery teams receive consistent, proportionate and practical support from early idea shaping through to assessment, delivery, transition, adoption and evaluation.

The post holder acts as DVSA’s senior professional lead for business change, using manager and colleague insight, audit findings, assurance evidence and delivery lessons to improve how change is assessed, governed, implemented, communicated and embedded across DVSA.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

• Experience of leading teams and delivering projects and/or programmes in complex organisational environments, setting direction, managing priorities and developing people.
• Able to support business change across project, programme, portfolio and service-led delivery, including sustainability, readiness, adoption and benefits planning.
• Experience of developing and improving professional service offers, operating models, standards, guidance, service catalogues, tools and behaviours that translate strategy into practical delivery.
• Able to use governance, assurance, data, feedback, colleague insight and lessons learned to improve services, demonstrate value and strengthen change support.
