Job summary

Worth Recruiting – Property Industry Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head of Block Management to launch and lead a new block management department in East Grinstead/Sussex. The role involves establishing systems, processes and standards while developing a residential property management operation.

The successful candidate will be professionally qualified (TPI) with extensive block management experience and a track record of building client relationships and leading teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential block management at senior/managerial level.
• Strong knowledge of leasehold property management and relevant legislation.
• Experience managing service charges, budgets, arrears and financial processes.
• Understanding of Section 20 consultation, major works and planned maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and develop the new block management department, creating effective processes, systems and procedures.
• Build and manage a portfolio of residential blocks and developments on behalf of freeholders, RMCs and leaseholders.
• Oversee service charge budgets, expenditure, arrears, insurance, maintenance and financial reporting.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and maintenance programmes, ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, leaseholders, residents and other stakeholders, handling queries and resolving issues professionally.
• Lead the future growth of the department, identifying new business opportunities and building a high-performing team as the portfolio expands.

• Confident dealing with freeholders, RMCs, leaseholders, residents and contractors
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Commercially minded with the ability to develop new business and grow a portfolio
• Leadership ability and the confidence to build a department and establish effective working practices
