The City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile—committed to building a vibrant, thriving City that supports a diverse and sustainable London at the heart of a globally successful UK.
Our 2024–2029 Corporate Plan outlines six ambitious outcomes, including driving dynamic economic growth and enhancing the Square Mile as a world-class destination. Central to delivering on these goals are our Business Improvement Districts (BIDs)—business-led and business-funded partnerships established through a ballot process. The City Corporation currently acts as both BID Proposer and BID Body for five such districts
Our Destination City initiative is the growth strategy for the Square Mile—a collaborative plan to bring together key partners and stakeholders, supporting innovation, economic growth, and cultural vibrancy
About the Role:
We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join us in this newly created position as Head of City BIDs. You’ll work at the heart of the City Corporation, helping to shape and coordinate the evolving role of BIDs in driving economic and placemaking ambitions across the Square Mile.

This is an exciting opportunity to lay the groundwork—developing new processes and systems to enhance coordination and collaboration across teams and with external partners.
About You:
Perhaps you have worked as a Head of Economic Development or Head of Stakeholder Engagement. Have you worked through governance and are you able to work in a member led environment?
You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for economic development, placemaking, and partnership working. A natural collaborator, you’ve successfully navigated complex political or operational landscapes, ideally within local or national government, London governance structures, or public/private sector partners.
