Citizen Housing Group seeks a strategic Head of Assurance to lead the disrepair function, ensuring safe, compliant and timely responses to complex claims while shaping policy and governance across the organisation.

You will provide expert guidance on building insurance works, major structural defects and environmental improvement notices, acting as a trusted lead in legal and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• A degree level or equivalent qualification in a recognised discipline in the built environment.
• CIH level 5 (or working towards)
• A depth of knowledge in Disrepair, EPA’s and Environmental improvement notices and all related legislation
• Proven expert knowledge in the management and delivery of HHSRS and Awaab’s Law cases and solutions
• RICS, MRICS or equivalent relevant experience
• Full UK driving license

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic direction and oversight of the organisation’s disrepair function, ensuring high quality, consistent and compliant case management.
• Lead service transformation, streamline processes and embed clear accountability and continuous improvement across the function.
• Align operational teams, contractors and legal representatives through senior level liaison, clear communication and coordinated delivery.
• Impart expert advice with regards to building insurance works and major structural defects.
• Represent Citizen professionally in court and external legal proceedings.
• Provide visible leadership and build team capability to manage complex disrepair and structural cases effectively.
• Build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and senior leaders to support effective service delivery.
• Oversee service performance and risk, maintaining effective controls and governance across the function.
• Support the development of policies, guidance and best practice to minimise disrepair and improve outcomes for residents
