Job summary

Paragon Banking Group PLC in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced asset management professional to support asset valuations and disposal strategies. You will work with sales and credit teams, and oversee appointed agents, to secure new business while managing risk.

You will assess disposal routes, inspect assets, and help develop new sectors such as Agriculture. The role is full-time, home-based with travel, and offers a generous benefits package and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Significant experience valuing assets for lease and hire purchase facilities.
• Strong knowledge of the asset finance market and relevant processes.
• Contacts within the industry for collection and disposal of assets in default.

Responsibilities

• Support asset valuations enabling the business to secure new work without unacceptable risk.
• Review and manage disposal routes for distressed assets and oversee appointed agents.
• Identify optimum disposal routes considering cost, speed and customer impact.
• Undertake asset inspections in distressed and normal operations as required.
• Support underwriting when new sectors, including Agriculture, are developed.
• Engage with manufacturers and suppliers to understand new asset developments.
• Collaborate with Sales and Credit teams to widen asset knowledge and types.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Using your experience and commercial understanding support asset valuations enabling the business in securing new business without taking on unacceptable risks.
• Actively reviewing and managing disposal routes for distressed assets and oversee the list of appointed agents who can be used to repossess and store assets
• Identifying in individual cases the optimum disposal route when considering all elements including cost, speed and any factors which directly affect the customer.
• Undertaking asset inspections as required both in distressed and business as usual circumstances
• Supporting the underwriting team with the benefit of your experience where new sectors, including Agriculture, are being developed.
• Supporting the business through engagement with manufacturers and suppliers to understand the benefits and potential uses of new asset developments.
• Engaging with other teams, particularly Sales and Credit to widen asset knowledge and potential new asset types that may be required going forward.

About You

What you’ll bring to the team

• You will have significant experience valuing assets for the purposes of provision of lease and hire purchase facilities.
• You will have strong industry knowledge across the asset finance market.
• You will have contacts within the industry for the purposes of collection and disposal of assets which are in default.
• You will have experience of managing challenging situations and communicating with customers at a senior level.
• You will have experience of managing the resale of assets and optimising the revenue from assets (e.g. generating income through short term rental) to minimise shortfalls to the business.

Working hours

This is a full time role 37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday
You will be home based, and you will provided with a vehicle to enable regular travel to visit customers, both in normal and distressed circumstances to undertake reviews and support the sales and credit teams. Travel will also be necessary to engage with manufacturers, service providers and attend trade shows as required.
