Job summary

Dacorum Borough Council is seeking an outstanding Head of Asset Management to lead a portfolio of over 10,000 homes. You will oversee Responsive Repairs, Empty Homes, Capital Investment, Strategic Asset Management and decarbonisation efforts across the social housing stock.

With substantial leadership experience and a focus on resident outcomes, you will shape services that improve safety, quality and value for money, while guiding a team and working with partners to deliver transformation.

As one of four Heads of Service reporting to the Assistant Director of Assets Compliance & Investment, this is a pivotal leadership role that will play a central part in delivering our ambitious plans for the future. Success will require the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, contractors, elected Members and external partners, alongside excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills. The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils. The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision‑making closer to the communities we serve.
