Job Description

Glasgow Life is looking for a Head of Arts and Music to join us on a full-time, permanent contract. The Head of Arts and Music is a senior leadership role within Glasgow Life, responsible for driving the strategic and operational delivery of arts and music services across the city. Acting as the lead officer for the implementation of Glasgow's Culture Strategy 2024-2030, the postholder will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering programmes that are inclusive, innovative, and impactful.

The role

As a Head of Art and Music, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team, contribute to organization-wide planning, and ensure that culture continues to enhance the well-being and vibrancy of Glasgow's communities and economy.

The candidate

If you're interested in joining us, you'll need:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent senior experience in cultural policy, arts management, or creative industries leadership.
  • Proven strategic leadership in a senior role, with experience leading large teams and delivering results in arts, culture, or music sectors.
  • A good understanding of delivering arts and music services within public and third-sector contexts.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience securing diverse funding sources.
  • Experience designing inclusive cultural programmes in partnership with diverse communities.
