Job summary

Bridgwater College Academy is seeking a compelling Head of Art & Design to lead and develop our Art, Photography, Design & Technology, and Food Technology subjects. The role focuses on shaping a broad, engaging curriculum that fosters creativity and practical skills while leading a committed team to uplift teaching standards.

The successful candidate will have QTS, strong subject knowledge across at least one discipline, and a track record of leading or potential leadership to raise standards

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Strong knowledge in Art, Photography, Design & Technology, or Food Technology.
• Experience delivering high-quality teaching at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in at least one relevantdiscipline (Art, Photography, DT or Food Technology)
• Proven success in delivering high-quality teaching atKey Stages 3 and 4
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team ofstaff
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadershipskills
• A commitment to curriculum development and raisingstandards across multiple subject areas
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
