Job summary

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a Head of AI & Technology Security Operations to lead a large, fast‑moving team across London, Leeds and Edinburgh. You will oversee AI vulnerability management, security operations, supplier risk, and continuity planning in an AI‑enabled digital environment.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will shape governance, drive risk reduction, and collaborate with Cyber and Information Resilience, DTI, and external partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI or agentic AI technologies.
• Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks relating to operational resilience, cyber resilience and AI governance.
• Experience in financial services, government, regulatory, or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to engage at senior levels with multiple parties.
• Evidence of managing complex supplier relationships and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and operation of the FCA’s AI vulnerability and threat management capability.
• Establish clear frameworks and controls for safe deployment of AI, including oversight and explainability.
• Maintain AI governance with ownership, risk classification and oversight of AI-enabled services.
• Own technology and AI risk, including design, testing, assurance activity and risk acceptance decisions.
• Provide metrics-led reporting to senior committees and Board on risk posture and threats.
• Oversee third-party and AI supply chain dependencies including cloud and data sources.
• Ensure supplier risk and continuity strategies across data, digital and AI services.
• Oversee incident, change management and live service operations.
