Job summary

Information Services in London seeks a dynamic Chief Information Security Officer to lead cyber security and tech risk from our London headquarters. You will balance strategic vision with hands-on governance, safeguarding our infrastructure while enabling digital innovation and AI governance across editorial, engineering, and commercial workflows.

You will report to the Chief Data Officer, chair risk and security governance, engage with the Board, and drive proactive incident response,

Qualifications

• Executive track record as a CISO or senior cyber security executive in a large, high-availability or digital-first environment.
• Strong practical understanding of AI risk, LLM vulnerabilities, data protection nuances in ML, and emerging tech challenges.
• Deep expertise across security operations (SOC), enterprise risk management, IAM, and third-party vendor oversight.
• Excellent business acumen with ability to articulate technical risk in terms of reputation and commercial impact.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with Board and Executive-level influence.
• Crisis management experience with calm, decisive leadership during cyber incidents.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 newsroom/media tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise-wide cyber security and information risk strategy.
• Act as principal security advisor to Board and Executive Committee.
• Partner with editorial, legal, technology, and operations teams to embed security into decisions.
