Job summary

Crystal Care Collection Limited is opening Millstone Mews in Bourne and seeks a Head Housekeeper to lead the domestic team and uphold exceptional cleanliness across the home.

You will ensure laundry and linen are properly handled, supervise staff, order stock, and maintain strict health, safety and infection control protocols while protecting residents' privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping/cleaning within a residential setting is desirable.
• Strong communication abilities to interact with residents and staff.
• Commitment to confidentiality, privacy and residents' dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality housekeeping service and maintain cleanliness to a high standard.
• Oversee all domestic staff and ensure duties are completed to the required standards.
• Order cleaning stock and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.
• Ensure areas are cleaned in line with guidelines and infection control practices.
• Respect residents' privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain equipment in safe working order and report faults promptly.

We are delighted to be opening Millstone Mews in February 2027 and would like to invite you to come along for the exciting journey! Millstone Mews is based in Bourne, and we are ready to start building our elite team.

Crystal Care Collection are focused on making our homes not just luxury places for our residents to live, but also wonderful places for our team members to work.

As a Head Housekeeper, you will play an integral role within the care home, working as part of a small domestic team. Your role is key to ensuring the home is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard, in line with the cleaning schedules, so our residents live in an exceptional environment. You will become part of the care home family and let’s be honest, YOU are what makes our home a great place to live and work!

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide a high quality housekeeping service to ensure all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard and that all linen and resident’s personal clothing/items are correctly laundered
• To oversee all domestic staff and to ensure all duties are completed to the desired standards.
• You will be responsible for ordering cleaning stock and ensuring stock levels are correct at all times.
• To ensure that all areas of the Care Home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents’ and homes needs.
• To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.
• To check that all residents’ personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair and returned to the correct resident in a timely manner after each laundry session.
• To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, including resident’s right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults to both Maintenance and the General Manager.
• To check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform the manager of any shortages.
• To always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.
• To be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meeting, attend training sessions and ensure that The Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

Hours of work: (08:00-18:00) and you will be expected to work 3 days on, 3 days off, which will be 35 hours per week in total.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.82
