Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Head Housekeeper for Birchmere Mews Care Home in Solihull. You will oversee housekeeping and laundry services to support high-quality care for residents.

You'll lead the housekeeping team, manage cleaning standards, and work with the Home Manager to source materials within budget while ensuring safety and compliance. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
• Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping/laundry service in care settings.
• Ability to lead, supervise and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
• Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for cleaning materials with approved suppliers within budget.
• Monitor standards of work to maintain high cleanliness.
• Supervise and direct the housekeeping team, instructing new staff on tasks and materials.
