Job summary

Silverleigh Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team and ensure impeccable cleanliness and presentation across the home in Axminster, Devon.

You will oversee daily operations, manage staff, coordinate tasks with infection control and safety standards, and drive a positive, high-performing environment. Alternate weekends are required.

Silverleigh is a beautiful care home, situated at the heart of a thriving community in a quiet street in the centre of Axminster, Devon. Silverleigh is registered for 65 residents.

Head Housekeeper Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Head Housekeeper, you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact daily life and overall experience.

You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents' rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
