Key tasks you will be doing:
- Maintaining and improving the hotel gardens, making sure they look their best at all times.
- Keeping up to date with current garden trends and practices and implementing relevant ones in the gardens.
- Managing and implementing garden projects, working with the hotel and group management team.
- Helping with basic maintenance tasks in the gardens and grounds, and managing and maintaining garden machinery and tools.
- Leading and managing the gardening team.
- Working with outside contractors effectively to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and to deliver the best gardens for our guests.
What you'll need:
- A passion for horticulture and a strong knowledge of plants, shrubs, trees, and lawns.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Charisma and an engaging personality, which will help you give great garden tours to our guests.
- Management skills to inspire and mentor a small team.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Physical fitness, as this is a hands-on role involving heavy lifting and manual tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider hotel management team.
- Willingness to support other hotel gardeners across our group of properties.
