Job summary

Meallmore Ltd's Belleaire Care Home in Greenock is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen, delivering home-cooked meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences.

You will organise, plan and inspire a kitchen team, uphold high hygiene standards (HACCP/COSHH) and manage budgets, audits and stock control while developing menu options that reflect residents' tastes.

Qualifications

• Head Chef experience in care homes or healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs.
• Food safety knowledge and training.
• Excellent leadership and team management.
• Understanding of HACCP and COSHH.
• Personal, warm approach focused on residents' wellbeing.
• Food Safety Level 3 desirable

Responsibilities

• Organise, plan and prepare meals reflecting residents’ dietary needs.
• Provide guidance and training to care teams on textured foods (e.g., IDDSI).
• Lead, motivate and upskill kitchen team.
• Comply with Meallmore quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Work within budget, audits and stock control.
• Menu development tailored to residents’ preferences.
