Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking a Head Chef for Sunbury-on-Thames to lead an extensive kitchen operation across multiple food outlets. The role oversees daily service, events, and a 10+ person kitchen team, ensuring top food quality and impeccable safety.

Salary £50,000–£55,000 per year, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday. Strong menu planning, supplier liaison, and team development are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Multi-site operation featuring a restaurant, three food outlets, and three cafés across venues.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all food across daily service and events.
• Lead kitchen operations for hospitality events of up to 1500 covers.
• Maintain exceptional food hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Monitor food costs, minimise waste, and manage the kitchen budget effectively.
• Conduct stock takes, manage inventory, and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers, place orders, and ensure all products meet quality standards.
• Work closely with clients and management on menu planning, tastings, and special events.
• Lead, coach, and support a small kitchen team of 10+ people.
• Ensure all team members receive training, development, and performance feedback.
• Oversee smooth day-to-day kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
